Speedup

I've got Bubbles hosted on a server at school now, so I can test it and get it working now. Except for some permissions-related stuff that I need to work out, it's coming along nicely.

I've got it so the content (text) is not part of the .html files, thus making it easier to edit both the text and the html to update stuff. And I've got the CSS setup to the point where it's more or less done and stuff.

And I've made a mobile mode where it stretches stuff to fill the whole screen in the hopes that it will be readable on phones. It looks fine on Google's Android G1 Emulator... Or whatever it's called... T-Mobile's in there somewhere... Long name...

Meanwhile.

I still haven't gotten to any of the actual PBBG-related stuff, and the usernames and registration & login pages don't work right now, I don't know why. Perhaps the php doesn't have permission to read the txt files that hold the usernames and passwords right now. I still need to switch to mySQL as well.

Meanwhile, I've recently gotten the blogger developement blog syndicated onto the homepage through php RSS reader stuff I got from the w3schools website. So that's cool.

Slowdown

At first Bubbles was coming along nicely, I got a chat script up in short order (something like two days), and it supports logging in (although I still have to get MySQL installed and working and shift over to it, currently I just use a .txt file).

Meanwhile, I've finally started work on the CSS, and by rewriting the HTML from scratch I've fixed the weird things it was doing.

I'm considering two different "themes" presently for the design appearance, one left-aligned, and one centered. The centered one includes images to make it more neat, while the left-aligned one is solely dependant on tables to organize itself.

Presently I don't know which one I'll go with, I think I'll just make them both and decide later. Meanwhile, in the end I hope to have an option for the users where they can select different themes for the layout (although myself I never use such options when PBBGs have them), and these two could both go in there.

Meanwhile, without the CSS I haven't been able to make any of the pages yet, so, it's currently just an empty-outline with a chatbox. Which is a little disheartening. But still, remembering that the chat works perfectly is heartening. So yes.

Meanwhile, the name of this reminded me that I wrote it to mention how Bubble's PBBG developement has been going slowly lately. That's why I made this entry.

And so I'll say what this is...


Bubbles is a PBBG that I am developing, how it works and what it is in particular are hard to explain.

Presently progress is going very fast, but, then, all I've made so far is a chat room, and stuff to handle logging in.

I'll be modifying this blog's appearance to be more in line with the way the PBBG's pages will appear shortly.

Uhh... Right... So... Yes.

This post is more just a necessity due to me just creating the blog. I don't really have anything important to say.
